A man is recovering in hospital following being stabbed during a fight that led to the arrest of at least six people in Surrey, B.C.

Police were called to a townhouse on 74th Avenue near 138th Street around 2:30 a.m. Friday and found a large group of people involved in a brawl, Staff Sgt. Blair McColl told CTV News.

One man was knifed in the stomach and rushed to hospital where he underwent overnight surgery.

McColl said more than six people have been arrested, but no charges have yet been laid.

Police are still trying to determine what motivated the fight as well as who and how suspects may have participated in it.
