A 20-year-old woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to throwing her baby's dead body in a Richmond, B.C. dumpster.

Crown Counsel Patti Tomasson told ctvbc.ca that Courtney Dawn Taylor will be sentenced in March following a pre-sentencing report and a psychiatric assessment.

According to police, Taylor didn't tell anyone she was pregnant until she gave birth to a full-term baby boy on Jan. 31.

Police said after informing her boyfriend that she had miscarried, they wrapped the dead baby in a towel, placed it inside a garbage bag and tossed it into a school dumpster.

Acting on a tip, a team made up of dozens of police extensively searched Delta's Burns Bog landfill for three days before finding the baby's body.

Taylor's boyfriend has not been charged in connection with the incident.
