Matt Lauer, the host of NBC's Today Show has broken up with wife Annette Lauer, according to the National Enquirer. The tabloid reported the split was caused after Annette accused Matt Lauer of cheating on her during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
"The Enquirer learned an enraged Annette accused Matt of fooling around during Today's on-site coverage of the Olympics in Vancouver," the tabloid reported on its website.
The Enquirer went on to say that Lauer went "wild" at Vancouver nightspots during the Winter Games.
The New York Daily News reported that Lauer stood up his wife on Valentine's Day. He also chose to stay in Vancouver after the Olympics even though the rest of the Today Show crew had returned to New York.
Matt Lauer and Annette Lauer—born Annette Roque-- have been married for 12 years.
While in Vancouver, Lauer was an active part of the Vancouver Games. On February 11, Lauer carried the Olympic torch in Burnaby. During the Games, Lauer and the Today Show broadcast atop Grouse Mountain.
In 2006, the Lauers separated briefly after Annette filed for divorce, but the couple later reconciled.
