A 27-year-old man was tasered at an upscale Vancouver hotel Monday afternoon after police say he was using a fraudulent credit card to book a room.

Police arrived at the Westin Bayshore Hotel after 1 p.m. to find the man in a hotel room. There was a struggle, and officers tasered him twice.

It turned out that the man was from North Vancouver and listed as a missing person.

The man was taken by ambulance to hospital for a mental health assessment.

The Westin Bayshore would not comment on the incident.
