Mounties are searching for a man they consider extremely dangerous after a shooting early Monday morning in Surrey, B.C.
Investigators say he burst into a basement suite in the 14600-block of 76-A Avenue and shot a man twice in the leg.
The victim was taken to hospital. His condition has not been released.
Police have identified 29-year-old Robin Blanshard as a suspect. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie and jeans.
"We're asking the public to exercise caution if they do locate Robin, that they contact the local police and advise right away," Insp. Rob DeBoersap said.
Police can't say yet whether the shooting was gang-related, but say the victim and suspect know each other.
Weekend of violence in the city
Surrey RCMP are still investigating another shooting in the city that occurred on Saturday night in a McDonald's near the Scott Road SkyTrain Station.
A man was fatally shot near the fast food restaurant's bathroom shortly after 6 p.m., following a confrontation with a suspect.
A confrontation between two men near the fast food restaurant's rest room erupted into violence, and a man was fatally shot.
Emergency response officers, dog teams and the Air One helicopter scoured the area but were unable to track a suspect.
He is described as an unshaven man, possibly dark-skinned, who was wearing dark clothing.
Hours later, police were called to a house party near the intersection of 192nd Street and 70th Avenue where a man had been fatally stabbed.
Police took five people into custody, and believe one of them may be the culprit.
