Four people were sent to hospital after a crash on the Malahat highway on Vancouver Island Saturday morning.
The head-on crash happened between a Honda Accord and a Volkswagen sedan near Westshore Parkway just before 9 a.m. and caused heavy traffic delays for several hours.
According to BC Emergency Health Services, two people were in critical condition and two were in stable condition.
Investigators are looking into the possibility that alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to West Shore RCMP.
A criminal investigation is now underway.
