Homicide investigators have released a photograph of a gold earring in hopes of identifying a murder victim found dead in a burned out car beside train tracks in Langley last month.
The man, believed to be between 20 and 40-years-old, was wearing the gold hoop earring in his right ear.
After nearly a month of forensic work, police still have yet to identify the victim.
Forensics revealed the man had undergone serious dental work, including a repair of his upper front tooth completed with a porcelain crown.
Sgt. Rob Vermeulen, speaking on behalf of B.C.'s Integrated Homicide Team, said investigators have tried to match the case to missing person files across the country and Washington State without success.
"Obviously this is someone's son, brother, friend -- and they haven't reported him missing," he said.
"Somebody out there knows he is and we really need to hear from them."
The man was found inside a scorched 1982 Chevrolet Camaro near CN Rail tracks September 23. The vehicle was reported stolen.
"Our investigators want to speak to anyone that recognizes the description of this male, or who may have seen this vehicle late night Sept 22, or early Sept 23 around 208th Street and the CN Rail tracks or surrounding area," he said.
