The Regina and District Chamber of Commerce has a new leader.

Victor Thomas was sworn in a as the chamber's 125th president on Friday night. Thomas, who was previously the chamber's vice-president, succeeds Andrew Rathwell.

Friday's ceremony was a landmark event for Thomas, who has been a chamber member for six years. He says he wants to make the most of this new opportunity.

"It is just a testament to this community that I am here today," Thomas said.

"I am exceptionally grateful and I look forward to doing everything I can in 2011 to move the interests of this business community forward."
