CLEVELAND - Tom Preissing scored with 17 seconds left in regulation then the Lake Erie Monsters converted on all three of their shootout attempts in a 5-4 American Hockey League win over the Abbotsford Heat on Wednesday.

T.J. Hensick, Mark Olver and Kevin Shattenkirk all beat Abbotsford goalie David Shantz in the shootout. Heat shooters Jon Rheault, Mitch Wahl and David Van der Gulik failed to score on Lake Erie's John Grahame.

Brian Fahey, Darren Haydar and Mike Carman also scored in regulation for Lake Erie (34-36-8).

Colin Stuart had two goals and Cam Cunning and Garth Murray also scored for the Heat (37-29-12), who scored three goals in the third period to take a 4-2 lead before allowing the Monsters to tie it up late.

Grahame made 16 saves for the Monsters while Shantz stopped 26 shots for the Heat.
