The family of a young mother-of-three missing since last year is renewing their appeal for her safe return.

Twenty-four-year-old Candace Shpeley has been missing since March 31, 2007.

Exactly a year since making their first appeal about their daughter's disappearance, Shepeley's parents made another emotional plea.

"A year is a long time to not know where an important person in your family is," said Candace's father, Barry Shpeley at a press conference in Abbotsford.

"Our family is living an ongoing nightmare that needs to end," he said.

Candace Shpeley was last seen by her brother on March 31st, after they ate lunch at a Chilliwack A&W Restaurant.

Shpeley was supposed to pick her children up at her father's house later in the day, but never arrived. She has three children under the age of seven.

Her car, a 1995 teal-green Pontiac Grand Am, was found in Southeast Vancouver nine days after she was reported missing.

Abbotsford police say despite a lengthy investigation and province-wide media attention, information has been slow-coming in the investigation.

"We are very concerned," said Abbotsford Police Const. Casey Vinet.

"Although we don't have any specific information that foul play is involved, we are well aware it is a possibility," he said.

Her disappearance is being treated as suspicious.

So far, the search has been focused in the Guildford and Fleetwood area of Surrey where it is believed she was visiting friends the night of the disappearance.

There has been no activity on her credit cards or cellular phone, and she does not have a passport.

Police feel someone may have information about Candace's last whereabouts, and are renewing their appeal to the public.

"We have three young children who want to know where their mother is," said Const. Casey Vinet.

"We want to be able to find them those answers, and do that as soon as possible," he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Abbotsford Police or Crimestoppers.
