BC Liberal leadership contender Kevin Falcon is attacking rival Christy Clark's commitment to the party in the first and only televised debate in the race.
During the pre-taped debate, which will air on Sunday, Falcon asked Clark whether she would run in the next election if she loses the race to replace outgoing Premier Gordon Campbell, noting his own commitment to stay on win or lose.
Clark responded that she's not receiving an MLA paycheque while she campaigns for the leadership and won't if she loses, and she'll have to make a decision about how best to support her family.
Clark added that she's not running to be just another politician, but to create real change in the province as premier.
The debate has seen very few real policy disagreements between candidates Falcon, Clark, George Abbott and Mike de Jong, with each agreeing that increases to health premiums and BC Hydro rates should remain, and that teachers shouldn't expect more money for salaries.
The debate will be broadcast Sunday at 5 p.m. on Shaw TV in B.C.
