Police are searching for the ex-husband of a 59-year-old woman who was found dead inside her Burnaby business Wednesday morning.

The body of the victim, who has been identified as Hee Sook Youn, was discovered shortly after 11 a.m. in the washroom of Cho Won, the health food store she ran at a strip mall on North Road.

An autopsy is being conducted to confirm the cause of death, but police said the evidence suggests she was the victim of a targeted homicide.

On Thursday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team revealed the deceased's ex-husband, 60-year-old Youngku Youn, is suspected in her death.

"Our main priority right now is to locate the suspect, who had fled the scene," Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound said.

In 2012, Youn was convicted of assault and assault with a weapon. He had a court order to stay away from his ex-wife.

Pound said she couldn't comment on the suspect's past except to say there is a "history of domestic violence within the family."

The suspect, who lives in Maple Ridge, is described as 5-7 tall, 143 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
