A couple who was driving in Northern B.C. and thought to be caught in an avalanche south of Chetwynd was not actually in that area, police say.
Family members of Volker and Morfydd Kroecher contacted police after it was thought they were driving through the avalanche area on Highway 97.
Police say they ruled out the chance the couple was caught in an avalanche, but they still have not made contact with the couple.
A slide occurred on the main route between Prince George and Fort St. John on Monday afternoon. A truck driver who was caught in the avalanche was rescued.
