UPDATE: Julian Halfe was located by police Saturday and is back in custody.
Police are issuing a public warning after a violent, high-risk offender disappeared from a Vancouver halfway house Thursday.
Julian Halfe recently served a federal sentence for robbery and assault and is currently on statutory release.
He broke his release terms by leaving the halfway house on Thursday and a Canada-wide warrant has now been issued for his arrest, according to police.
Halfe, who police said has been deemed a high risk to violently reoffend, is described as Aboriginal, 5’6” tall with short or shaved brown hair and brown eyes.
He has several distinctive tattoos including full sleeves on both arms, a full neck tattoo and a teardrop underneath his left eye, according to police.
He was last seen wearing a baseball hat with a red ‘C’ logo and red brim, black hooded jacket, dark baggy blue jeans, black shoes and a black backpack.
Anyone with information about Halfe’s whereabouts is asked not to approach him and instead call 911.
