All B.C. Government and Service Employees Union members are back on the job this morning following a one-day strike at three liquor distribution centres.
The job action targeted centres in Vancouver, Victoria and Kamloops but the union has not said if further walkouts are planned, when they might occur or which workers could take part.
BCGEU president Darryl Walker says 25,000 of his members -- including sheriffs, probation officers, social workers, liquor store and warehouse employees -- have been without a wage increase since 2009.
The province has offered a two per cent wage increase in the first year of a two year deal, and 1.5 per cent in the second, while the union is seeking 3.5 per cent in the first year and a cost-of-living increase in the final year.
