All five Sunday sailings of BC Ferries' Spirit of British Columbia vessel have been cancelled due to a possible electrical issue.
"There's a problem with the propulsion system in her so we've got our engineers and electrical specialists looking into it," BC Ferries spokesman Mark Stefanson said.
The following trips between Tsawassen and Swartz Bay are affected:
- 1 p.m. departure from Swartz Bay
- 3 p.m. departure from Tsawwassen
- 5 p.m. departure from Swartz Bay
- 7 p.m. departure from Tsawwassen
- 9 p.m. departure from Swartz Bay
One replacement trip in each direction has been added. The Queen of New Westminster will depart from Tsawwassen at 8 p.m. and from Swartz Bay at 10 p.m.
Stefanson said crews hope to have the Spirit of British Columbia back in service on Monday morning. "Our plan is to have it back in by 7 a.m.," he said.
