B.C. Mounties will recommend charges against a Langley mother they say tested at more than three times the legal alcohol limit after she crashed her truck while her toddler was in the vehicle.

The 29-year-old was behind the wheel of a 1999 Ford F-150 on Thursday afternoon when she allegedly rear-ended a Toyota FJ Cruiser in the 6200-block of Mufford Crescent, causing the second vehicle to smash into the back of a Toyota Matrix. No one was injured in the crash, but investigators believed the driver of the Ford was impaired, and took her back to the Langley RCMP detachment to give breath samples.

"Of particular concern, aside from the fairly high readings and the time of day, was the fact that the driver's two-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle," Cpl. Holly Marks said in a release.

Crown prosecutors will have the final say on whether charges are laid.
