Vancouver's Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the return of the fair's popular mascot, K.C. The Kettle Creek Bear.

"K.C. was stolen from the Party Patrol vehicle we use to transport him to parades and other community events," said PNE spokesperson Laura Ballance.

"We're obviously very anxious to have him back, and are offering a reward for his safe return."

K.C., the mascot for both the annual Fair at the PNE and Playland Amusement Park, is also the namesake for a number of popular rides and attractions at Playland, including K.C. Bear's Kettle Creek Mine Coaster.

"He's a very big part of the Playland experience for our young guests," says Ballance, adding that the theft was discovered when members of the Playland Party Patrol Team went to retrieve the mascot for his appearance in the park on Monday.

K.C. is described as being brown and furry, and standing six feet tall.

It was last seen sporting a train engineers' outfit with an engineers hat with the Playland logo on it, and a red bandana.

Members of the public with information about the whereabouts of K.C. are asked to call the PNE administration office at: 604-253-2311.
