Mounties in Maple Ridge, B.C. are searching for three convicts who escaped from their work crew while serving time at the Fraser Regional Correction Centre Thursday afternoon.

The trio was last seen around 12:30 p.m. while they were working in Alco Park, which is located in the 24900-block of Alouette Road.

The police are looking for three white males all wearing orange prison work jumpsuits.

Douglas Erickson is 42 years old, 5-8 tall, 185 pounds, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He has two tattoos of a dragon and Tasmanian devil on his right shoulder.

Ryan Plotnikoff is 32 years old, 6-4 tall, 209 pounds, with blue eyes and short brown hair. He has a Tasmanian devil tattoo on a right-handed finger and a maple leaf tattoo on a left-handed finger. The Surrey man was serving a 10-month sentence after he pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of credit card data and possession of stolen property.

David Traill is 48 years old, 5-11 tall, 165 pounds, with hazel eyes and short balding blonde hair. He has a goatee and numerous tattoos.

Police say the three may have been picked up by a blue-grey coloured sedan that was spotted in the area, but officials have not been able to confirm this.

Police do not feel the escapees will be violent, but they are warning the public not to approach the men. Mounties are asking anyone who sees the three convicts to call 911 immediately.

It is not known where the men are headed. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251 or CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction of the escaped trio.
