NORTH VANCOUVER - Mounties in North Vancouver are investigating the theft of 19 firearms from a gunsmith who sells and repairs guns from his home.

Cpl. Richard De Jong says that sometime between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, thieves broke into the home and stole the registered firearms from a secure locker.

De Jong says the rifle/long-barrel variety of firearms range from the 22-calibre to the seven-millimetre type.

He says no ammunition was taken and that, as per legal requirements, it was securely stored in a separate location of the home.

Police have no suspects and are asking for the public's help in providing any information in the investigation.
