A family member has been arrested in the murder of a 43-year-old Surrey woman.

The victim was discovered at a home on 130th Street and 103A Avenue early Monday morning.

Police have not released the cause of death but believe foul play is involved, and the death may be the result of domestic violence.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the victim as Jackie Olson.

Sgt. Jennifer Pound said a male family member was taken into custody in connection with her death this morning.

“This individual is currently in custody and IHIT are continuing to sort through the evidence and determine what led up to this tragic crime,” she said in a statement.

The woman’s death marks the 11 homicide this year in Surrey, bringing the 490,000-population suburb’s murder rate in line with Toronto’s.
