Metro Vancouver’s transit police have arrested a man after they allegedly caught him printing counterfeit $20 bills in public view.

Officers allegedly observed Gerald Doyle, 48, reportedly printing off currency from a printer plugged into an outlet on the bus Central Surrey Bus Loop platform the evening of Aug. 28.

When they approached him, they allegedly found a bag full 8-inch by 11-inch sheets of more than $1000 in counterfeit notes.

They also found other undisclosed counterfeit paraphernalia and items Doyle was prohibited from having under his parole conditions.

He has been charged with possession of counterfeit money, making counterfeit money, and possession of instruments used to make counterfeit money.

Police say Doyle is very well known to them.
