It will soon cost more to cross the Golden Ears Bridge.

Starting July 15, tolls will increase from five to 15 cents, depending on what kind of vehicle you drive. There is no increase for motorcycle riders.

TransLink said the 1.5% increase, which brings the average “pay as you go” fare from $4.25 to $4.30 per trip, will cover the annual rate of inflation.

Last year, TransLink said that the tolled crossing is hemorrhaging up to $45-million per year, despite an increase in crossings.

Local Fraser Valley mayors have complained drivers in their communities are unfairly being gouged because of the tolls.
