A routine patrol along a rural road in Surrey, B.C., uncovered two bodies early Wednesday – the third and fourth bodies to be found in the same area in less than six weeks.
A uniformed officer spotted a man lying on the side of Colebrook Road and 125A Street around 2 a.m. The body of a woman was found a short time later after dog teams swept the area.
Neither victim has been identified and it’s not known if the two gruesome discoveries are linked, or what relationship there was between the victims.
It’s not known how the pair died, only that the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team believes both were met with foul play.
The dead-end road, which is isolated but easily accessible by several highways, is becoming a frequent crime scene.
On January 28, someone out for a walk discovered the body of 26-year-old Jaskaran Sandhu dumped on the side of the road.
Just a few weeks later, the burned body of 29-year-old Amritpal Saran was also found on the road, near the Delta Golf Course.
Both men were known to police.
IHIT spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Pound said Mounties now regularly patrol the area, with good reason.
“They have deemed it important,” she told reporters from the crime scene Wednesday morning. “In this case, the deceased male and female were located by police.”
