A Chilliwack neighbourhood is in shock after three people were found shot, two of them dead inside an apartment building early Thursday morning.

It happened in a low-rise building near Gore Avenue and Nowell Street, but few other details have been confirmed.

“It is too early to discuss motive or the specific circumstances surrounding this incident, however, this incident appears to be targeted ,” said Sergeant Bari Emam of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Neighbours told CTV News they heard an argument early Thursday morning with one person threatening to kill another.

Multiple shots rang out around 4 a.m. and as many as five people were seen fleeing in a Mazda hatchback.

“I live around the corner here. Someone got murdered. It’s scary knowing that happened on the same block,” said another neighbour walking with his baby in a stroller.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area of 46100 Gore Avenue in Chilliwack Thursday morning between 3:30 and 4:30 a.m. who may have witnessed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
