A couple is in hot water after getting hot and heavy while driving in Richmond.

Richmond RCMP said an officer was driving in the area of No. 5 Road and Westminster Highway when he noticed a car being driven erratically.

Two people appeared to be in the same seat of the car, Corp. Dennis Hwang told CTV News. The vehicle was pulled over, and the man and woman "rearranged themselves," Hwang said.

"One of our officers stopped a (car) w/ a couple engaged in coitus while driving," RCMP posted on Twitter.

"License & registration took longer than expected to produce."

The man and woman were told they had broken several rules, including distracted driving – though no electronic device was involved – and not wearing seat belts.

The driver has been ticketed for driving without due care and attention and a seatbelt violation.
