Two men are dead following a reported drowning on Salt Spring Island.
Crews rushed to Weston Lake on the south side of the island just after 6 p.m. Tuesday night, responding to calls of a possible double drowning.
Reports from the scene indicate one victim was pulled to shore while firefighters had to use their rescue boat to retrieve the other.
The men were rushed to hospital in critical condition but they later died, according to the BC Coroners Service.
Their names have not been released.
