A former Goh Ballet Academy instructor accused of sex crimes has posted $10,000 bail.

Alejandro Vargas Gomez appeared in court Thursday morning, where he was ordered to surrender his passport and to stay away from his former workplace and alleged victim.

The 49-year-old is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation and one count of luring for allegedly having a sexual relationship with an underage student.

Police haven’t confirmed whether Gomez, who is originally from Mexico, has a criminal history outside of Canada.

He is scheduled to appear in court next on Dec. 9.
