The B.C. Coroners Service has identified the man killed in a police shooting in Victoria over the weekend as Rhett Patrick Victor Mutch.
The 20-year-old was shot during an encounter with police at a home on Dallas Road around 11 a.m. Saturday.
He was carried into an ambulance but died before reaching the hospital.
Police said Mutch confronted them, but few details have been confirmed, including whether the young man was carrying any kind of weapon when officers opened fire.
The Coroners Service is continuing to investigate the death, as is B.C’s police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Office.
