The Independent Investigations Office has been deployed to Victoria after a police-involved shooting that left one man dead, officials confirmed Saturday.
Police say officers attended a home in the 200-block of Dallas Road in the James Bay area after a 911 call came in.
According to police, a man confronted the officers. Details are unclear about what happened next, but police opened fire on the man, and he died as a result of his injuries.
Police aren’t saying whether the man was brandishing a weapon when he confronted the officers.
The Independent Investigations Office confirmed investigators had been deployed to Victoria after the shooting and will take over the case.
