In a story that reads like a public service ad against drug use, RCMP say a man was arrested with a suitcase full of heroin at Vancouver's airport during the Olympic Games.

There were more than 10,000 police and soldiers in Vancouver to provide security for the Games when, on Feb. 22, a Canadian man coming back from India attempted to go through security at Vancouver's airport.

Canada Border Service agents sent him for secondary inspection and later found four kilograms of heroin hidden inside two suitcases.

The 38-year-old man was arrested by RCMP and federal drug investgators were called in to take over the case.

The unnamed man has been released from custody with a promise to appear in court in June.

While the arrest was made more than two weeks ago, police are only just revealing details of the case.
