A 38-year-old man was Tasered after a rampage through Locarno Beach Sunday night, where lifeguard chairs were knocked over and a lifeguard was hit in the head.
The man was seen throwing a sign into the water and screaming obscenities as he moved west along the beach last night at about 9 p.m.
When a lifeguard approached him to calm him down, police say the man struck the lifeguard in the head.
The lifeguard called 9-1-1 to report the assault. Police arrived to arrest the man, but there was a prolonged struggle.
The man was then Tasered and arrested. He now faces charges of assault, mischief, and obstructing a peace officer.
