The Atlanta Thrashers have signed first-round pick Evander Kane to a multi-year deal, the club announced Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Atlanta selected the six-foot-one, 185-pound Vancouver native with the fourth overall pick of the 2009 NHL draft.

Kane, 17, recorded 48 goals and 48 assists in 61 games for the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League last season. He led the WHL in power play goals (23), ranked second in goals and game-winning goals (10), and placed fourth in points.

He added seven goals and eight assists in 17 playoff games while leading the Giants to the WHL Western Conference Finals. He was named to the 2009 WHL Western Conference first all-star team and also competed in the Canadian Hockey League's top prospects game.

In international play, Kane had two goals and four assists in six games and helped Canada win gold at the 2009 world junior hockey championship in Ottawa.
