Three weddings at Lake Okanagan Resort were disrupted when the Terrace Mountain Fire flared up over the weekend.

"Had to shut them down, say, 'Sorry, got to go,'" said resort worker Courtney Adams. "Felt so bad for the brides. Ruined their entire night."

The fire also disrupted a 40th wedding anniversary. Some family members had flown in from Halifax.

About 2,500 people were ordered out of their homes after gusty winds and high temperatures caused the blaze to re-ignite. It was the second time in two weeks Fintry residents were under a mandatory evacuation.

The fire has scorched about 7,000 hectares and is 30 percent contained. Hot, dry weather in B.C.'s southern interior is expected to continue through Wednesday.

Initially, hotel rooms stretching all the way to the U.S. border had been booked up due to the long weekend, but fire officials said Monday that more rooms had become available.

About 170 evacuees were put up in a Kelowna church and at UBC's Okanagan campus. Others have simply camped in their vehicles.

Evacuees have been getting help with food and lodging at the Emergency Social Services reception centre at Mount Boucherie Senior Secondary School.

Okanagan Lake boaters have been told to stay at least 400 metres from the shoreline of all the evacuated areas so that firefighting aircraft can access the lake.

Meanwhile, about 120 people living in Brookmere, south of Merritt, have been ordered out of their homes because of a fire five kilometers away from the village.

And about 2,500 people from the Lillooet area remain on evacuation alert because of the Mount McLean fire.
