Two teenagers could face several charges after an alleged assault at a high school in Langley, B.C. Police say a weapon -- possibly a BB gun -- was pointed at a student.

Shortly before noon on Friday, administrators at Langley Secondary called police to report that three young men had approached a student on school property.

One of the men threatened the student, pushed him to the ground, and pointed a weapon at him, according to police.

Three young men were arrested later that afternoon, and a police search warrant uncovered a BB gun in a nearby vehicle.

One of the three suspects was released without charges.

RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks told ctvbc.ca that police do not believe the incident was random.

"There's a previous history there," she said. "They're known to each other."

However, Marks said that an investigation into the incident is ongoing, and she was unable to reveal how the victim was acquainted with the others.

Police are recommending charges of uttering threats, assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of an offence against a 17-year-old from Langley. A 19-year-old Surrey man could also face assault charges.

Both have been released to appear in court on May 19.
