Two teenagers are facing assault charges after an attack on a Burnaby bus driver Thursday afternoon.

RCMP say two 15-year-old boys kicked the bus as they got off at 6th Street and 17th Avenue. The driver was hit repeatedly in the head and face when he got off the bus to confront the pair at the side of the road.

The 23-year-old driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is expected to fully recover.

The two boys face charges of assault causing bodily harm. The duo have been released to their parents and will appear in court at a later date.

Anyone who may have witnessed the assault and have not talked to police are asked to contact Cst. Yardley at 604-294-7922.
