North Shore Search and Rescue teams have rescued a woman from Grouse Mountain.

The 50-year-old became stranded yesterday after hiking in the Crown Creek area - and had to spend the night on the mountain.

She called RCMP several times for help, but it was tough for rescuers to find her.

Once volunteers pinpointed her exact location, it took crews more than two hours to bring her out of the bush.

Teams finally used a long line hanging from a helicopter to reach the woman.

She was dehydrated and appeared disoriented when she reached the base of the mountain.

The hiker was taken to hospital.
