Six pieces of memorabilia stolen from the Tomahawk restaurant in North Vancouver were returned 20 years later.

Owner Charles Chamberlain thought he'd never see several First Nations artifacts after they were stolen in a break-in two decades ago. But some of them ended up on the counter of his diner Tuesday.

Surveillance video captured part of what happened. RCMP said a man made two trips into the restaurant, placing the stolen items on the front desk.

"My mouth fell open," Chamberlain told CTV News. " I just stared and couldn't believe what I was looking at."

Police are hoping to speak to the person who returned the stolen artifacts and they're asking for anyone with information to come forward.

As for Chamberlain, he is not interested in pressing charges. He's just glad to have his memorabilia back and hopes that the rest of the stolen items are returned.

"I'm thankful and happy for what has been returned," he said. "It would be nice for the rest of it to come home too."
