A late third period goal by Ryan Kesler wasn't enough for the Vancouver Canucks, who fell to the Nashville Predators, 4-3, in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals.
Two goals by Joel Ward in the third period put the Predators ahead by two before Kesler made things interesting, but it didn't prove to be enough.
David Legwand found the back of the net on a lucky shot in the opening minutes of the second period to level the contest, scoring his second goal of the game. The forward scored a short-handed goal in the first period with teammate Sergei Kostitsyn serving two minutes for holding the stick.
Kesler and Raffi Torres had the Canucks' other goals, scored in the opening period.
