Vancouver police say the body of a woman found in the trunk of a car late last month was that of a massage parlour worker who had disappeared about three weeks earlier.
Police say dental records were used to identify the body of 33-year-old Hong Wei Yin of Burnaby.
Her body was discovered in the car's trunk July 30, 18 days after she vanished after leaving her home.
She'd planned a trip to China to visit her family but never made her flight.
Police say her next of kin have been notified in B.C. and China and homicide detectives continue to investigate.
This is Vancouver's 16th homicide of the year.
