I loved Fred Savage and his beat up New York Jets jacket. And who could forget Winnie Cooper and what a great catch she was. (Kids, that's a Google you all may want to make).

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, chances are, you didn't spend as much time in front of a t.v. as I did as a kid. You see, Fred and Winnie were two of the main characters in the 80's hit show, The Wonder Years. I thought of them because most of the talk in our lives these days is about the up-coming year. The one year countdown. The one year pin. The single, solitary year that remains before The Winter Games.

And it makes me wonder where all the years have gone.

The countdown to the 2010 Games is now down to flipping months and days on the calendar.

In our CTV world, the Olympics will be loads of work and long hours, bit it's the type of work you relish, enjoy, and live for.

While most people might feel lukewarm at best about the games at this point, things are certainly starting to heat up. There have been test events everywhere.  I happened to spend last Saturday night at Cypress Mountain when Canada won back to back golds in the moguls competition. The crowd was small, but electric. The atmosphere had everyone buzzing and the results were perfect. It would be an amazing way to start off the Games since the moguls are slated for the opening night of the Olympics. Not only could a golden performance cap off the end of a great day, it could quite possibly jump start a history-making run for our country.

Here at work, our countdown to 2010 started at 1,110 days. Now, I have to admit, it seems like it's just around the corner. Thankfully, I no longer have to wonder it it will be exciting or insipiring.

Yes, the "Wonder Year" has arrived.

I just wonder if Winnie Cooper will be here...
