Steve Omischl is the latest Canadian athlete to find the podium at the 2009 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Championship aerials event in Inawashiro, Japan. It marks the fourth career world championship medal for the native of North Bay, Ontario.  The result caps off an incredible season for Omischl, who also claimed the overall World Cup Title. The only prize missing from Omischl's trophy case is Olympic Gold and the 30-year old will look to finally grab that elusive medal when he competes at the 2010 Games in Vancouver.

Meantime, Calgary's Warren Shouldice, earned bronze in his first competition since suffering a severe concussion at a world cup event in Quebec.  It is Shouldice's best ever world championship result.
