Notes suggest missing woman may have left town

Mounties in Surrey, B.C., are asking the public's help in locating a missing 63-year-old woman who may have voyaged as far as Canada's East Coast.

Katalin Kunovits, who also goes by Kathy, was last seen in Vancouver on Sept. 30 at the TD Bank in the 400-block of West 8th Ave.

Notes found in Kunovits' apartment suggest she could have headed for the Sunshine Coast communities of Sechelt or Davis Bay, or even as far as Prince Edward Island or Nova Scotia.

Police say she does not drive and uses public transportation to get around. Investigators have checked border crossings and determined Kunovits has not left Canada.

She is described as a 5-7 tall, 119 lb. woman with brown and grey hair and glasses.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
