Vancouver Police have released the name of the city's 15th homicide victim, in an attempt to gather information about her whereabouts prior to her disappearance.

Downtown Eastside resident Lisa Arlene Francis, 41, was found floating in the Fraser River in south Vancouver on Thursday night.

Investigators believe the woman was last seen on July 10th. Subsequent police checks of area hospitals, social services agencies, and the surrounding neighbourhood failed turn up any sign of the woman.

Her body was then discovered on Thursday evening by a man walking along the shore of the Fraser River near the 9100 block of Bentley Street.

Police believe the victim, also known as Lisa Arlene Kireche, was a Vancouver sex trade worker.

Investigators are working to put together a timeline around the woman's disappearance and are appealing to anyone with information to contact the VPD Major Crime Homicide Section at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers.
