A public memorial this weekend will honour the model from Saltspring Island, who was recently murdered in China.
At the age of 22, Diana O'brien was modeling in Shanghai when she was murdered on July 6. Her death shocked the tiny island community of Saltspring, where she grew up.
An 18-year-old man has confessed to her murder, saying he killed O'brien as part of a botched buglary. Diana's friends have told CTV news her mother travelled to China to bring her body home.
The memorial will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Falcon Pit Grill on Saltspring Island.
