A man playing basketball with a friend was stabbed to death in an elementary school playground in Kamloops, B.C. on Tuesday.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned told CTV News that the friend had been searching for a bathroom when he returned to find the victim bleeding on the ground at Stuart Wood Elementary around 4:45 p.m.
People on the scene performed CPR on the victim, but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Royal Inland Hospital.
The victim is believed to be a Vancouver man in his mid-20s visiting relatives in Kamloops.
A dog team searched the area for evidence and suspects, and the area was cordoned off to pedestrians. No arrests have been made in the stabbing.
Learned said police hope to schedule an autopsy for Wednesday to confirm the cause of death.
