ABBOTSFORD - Jamie Lundmark helped the Abbotsford Heat gain a measure of revenge over Peoria, and burned a pair of the Rivermen's defencemen in the process.

Lundmark's highlight-reel goal stood as the winner and the Abbotsford Heat beat the Peoria Rivermen 3-1 in American Hockey League action Sunday.

Lundmark split two Rivermen defencemen with a beautiful spin move and beat Ben Bishop with a backhanded shot blocker side.

"I was really just trying to beat the first guy and then I saw the second guy come at me at the last minute and just jumped out of the way," said Lundmark. "When I turned around to face the net again the puck was still there so I just kept on going."

The Heat avenged a 4-3 home loss to Peoria on Saturday, when they played for the first time in six nights.

"It's big for us, we had a good week this week, we worked hard, everybody worked hard," Lundmark said. "First game back from a week off last night is always tough.

"I think tonight we came out and showed them a different team and it was big for us."

Josh Meyers and Jason Jaffray also scored for the Heat (16-14-4), while Matt Keetley made 28 saves picking up his fourth win of the season.

Derek Armstrong opened the scoring for Peoria (17-11-3) which had many chances to open up a two-goal lead in the second period.

"I thought (Matt) Keetley made some good saves and he didn't allow any second chances," said Peoria head coach, Davis Payne. "I thought that second period was an opportunity for us to grab a lead or build on one, and the chances we did get Keetley kept them out."

After a fight-filled affair Saturday night both teams kept the gloves on Sunday, though J.D. Watt's hit from behind on Rivermen forward Pascall Pelletier caused a stir in the opening period.

The officials kept a tight lid on things, assessing a total of 54 minutes in penalties between the two teams.

"It's certainly not the flow you'd like to get into when you've got four lines that are capable of playing in all situations," said Payne of the penalties. "(It's) not the type of game we'd like to see, but we have to deal with the situations that are out of our hands."

Bishop made 31 saves in the loss.

The Heat improved to 12-0-1 when leading after 20 minutes.
