Complaints from neighbours about loud sex led Vancouver police to raid a west side brothel and arrest the suspected madam.
Investigators visited Broadway Bodycare, a "health enhancement centre" at 1926 Broadway, on March 18 and arrested 45-year-old Danielle Boseley, the alleged proprietor. Thirteen women and two male customers were in the shop at the time.
Const. Lindsey Houghton said the investigation started with complaints from people living nearby.
"The complaint was initially received after some people in the area were complaining about the sexual noises that were coming from the business," he said, but declined to elaborate.
A sign on the door of Broadway Bodycare on Wednesday said the business was "closed for renovations."
Boseley, a Langley resident with no previous criminal record, has been charged with keeping a common bawdy house and living on the avails of prostitution.
She has been released from jail on conditions, including that she stay away from the business and other places associated with prostitution or adult entertainment.
Boseley's next court appearance is scheduled for April 11 in Vancouver provincial court.
