The B.C. Lions Football Club is pleased to announce that a league-high five players have been named to the 2008 CFL Defensive All-Star team.

Defensive linemen, Cam Wake, Brent Johnson, Aaron Hunt along with safety Barron Miles and corner back, Dante Marsh, were elected by 46 voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) representing eight CFL markets and a national chapter as well as the eight CFL head coaches and CFL fans from across the country.

Fans were given the opportunity to have their voice heard through the Future Shop CFL All-Star Balloting Program where three quarters of a million player votes were cast.

Cam Wake earns his second straight CFL All-Star nod, leading the league with 23 sacks. Wake is also the West Division's nominee as Outstanding Defensive Player.

Brent Johnson picks up his third career CFL All-Star honour while Aaron Hunt notches his first, as does Dante Marsh. For veteran safety, Barron Miles, this marks his second All-Star selection as a Lion and fifth overall.

On a related note, Ryan Phillips, was named the CFL Defensive Player of the Week, after recording a pair of interceptions, including one returned for a 54-yard touchdown, during the Leos 33-12 win over the Roughriders. Lions' rookie running back, Stefan Logan, was runner-up in the Offensive Player of the Week category.

Logan scored a touchdown and accumulated 153 yards on the ground with a lofty 8.5-yard average per run, along with another 88 yards through the air.
