A young giraffe has died at the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove.
Three-year-old Amryn died Monday after being found lying on the ground outside the barn in his enclosure. The zoo says the Rothschild giraffe was treated aggressively, but died shortly after he was discovered.
A post mortem has been conducted, but veterinarians have not yet determined the cause of death. The zoo says the full results of a necropsy will be released as soon as it is complete.
Amryn, the youngest giraffe at the facility, would have turned four on Dec. 20. His parents Eleah and Jafari are still alive and living at the zoo.
